Thank you for visiting my website for the first time.

I know that you guys are getting lot of popups when you are browsing from one page to another in my website. This really irritates you and you will never ever come back to my site. But, I do not want that to happen, so I am sharing some secrets with you guys. Some of my readers might know these steps already, I appreciate that. These steps are for the readers who do not know how to stop popups.

Remember these steps will stop all the popups including the important ones. For example, when you go to banking websites, it might give you a popup screen where you will have to enter your account number and the password. This popup will also get blocked. So, you just enable "Active Scripting" and you will be able to get the popup back.

1) Disabling annoying popups from adware which is installed in your computer without your knowledge or from the advertisement sites directly.

Click on Tools--àClick on Internet Options (If this is not working then type inetcpl.cpl in run window and hit ok)--àClick on the "Security" tab--àSelect the Internet  Zone--àClick on custom level--àKeep scrolling down till you get "Scripting"--àUnder Scripting, you have an option for "Active Scripting"--àSelect Disable--àClick OK, OK.

Now, I promise you will never get a popup as long as the active scripting is disabled.

The second step is not required, but if you want, you can still perform these steps. It will help you in stopping some annoying popups which looks as if they have come from your computer, not from site.

2) Disabling the Messenger Service (To see pictures of annoying messenger popups go to the end of the page)

Alternate way

Another way it may be possible to block these messages is to use the advanced TCP/IP security and filtering options in the Windows NT, 2000, and XP network control panel.

In general, blocking ports TCP-139 and UDP-135 seems to prevent delivery of these messages although  TCP-445 may also be necessary. These may be blocked on each computer with a "personal firewall" or in the communications path with a "hardware" firewall or router filter.

For most desktop users, blocking all the following ports, both UDP and TCP,  is suggested as a way to both stop the Messenger abuse and improve overall security. Windows leaves these doors open by default and blocking them will prevent possible problems or abuse.
